Living with ADHD can feel like too much, all at once.

Whether you’re the one navigating ADHD or you’re a parent, partner, or family member trying to support someone who is, daily life can feel overwhelming, like you’re constantly out of step with the world around you.

Living with ADHD often means carrying an invisible weight, wanting to keep up, but feeling like the world is moving at a pace you can’t match. It can leave you questioning yourself, wondering why daily life feels harder than it should.

At the Relationship Therapy Centre, we offer ADHD Therapy in Mississauga for children, teens, adults, parents, couples, and families. Together, we’ll work to reduce shame, make sense of your experiences, and build strategies that help life feel calmer, more connected, and more manageable.

Our Approach

How Our ADHD Therapy Works

At the Relationship Therapy Centre, we understand how overwhelming life with ADHD can be for individuals and for the people who love them. Our Mississauga therapists are here to meet you where you’re at. Using supportive, evidence-based approaches like narrative therapy, psychoeducation, and solution-focused tools, we’ll help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, let go of the shame, and find strategies that work for you. Together, we’ll work toward more clarity, connection, and calm in your everyday life.

We Connect

In our first ADHD therapy session, we take time to get to know you and your goals. Whether you’re a parent, teen, adult, or partner, we create a safe space to understand your experiences and how ADHD has impacted your life.

We Collaborate

Together, we explore your emotional and practical struggles. Using narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and psychoeducation, we help you reclaim your story and build tools that effectively work for your brain.

We Grow

Through ADHD therapy, we’ll work to reduce overwhelm, strengthen emotional skills, improve focus and follow-through, and build more connected relationships. Over time, you’ll feel more confident in how you manage your world and how you show up in it.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely not! A formal diagnosis isn’t required to start therapy. Whether you’ve already been diagnosed, are exploring the possibility, or aren’t sure where you stand, ADHD therapy in Mississauga can still be a valuable resource. Our therapists are well-informed in ADHD care and can support you in understanding your symptoms, exploring your story, and deciding on the next steps that feel right for you as you work toward your goals.

It can include that, but it’s also so much more. While we support clients with executive functioning challenges like organization, time management, and follow-through, our work goes beyond skill-building. We support children, teens, adults, partners, and parents in unlearning internalized shame, building self-compassion, and creating meaningful, sustainable change.

We’re not here to push you into systems that don’t work for your brain. We want to understand your goals and collaborate with you to create strategies that actually fit your life.

At the Relationship Therapy Centre, we support children with ADHD through playful, skills-based therapy that helps them better understand and manage their emotions, focus, and behaviour.

One key tool we use is the Zones of Regulation, which helps kids recognize when they’re in the green (calm), yellow (frustrated or wiggly), or red (overwhelmed) zones—and what strategies can help bring them back to calm.

Our ADHD therapists integrate Play Therapy, CBT, DBT-informed tools, and Narrative Therapy in Mississauga to build emotional regulation, flexible thinking, and confidence.

We also work closely with parents to help them better understand ADHD, respond more effectively to dysregulation, and create connected, supportive routines at home.

ADHD can affect communication styles, emotional expression, conflict resolution, and often leaves one or both partners feeling misunderstood or unheard. In relationship or couples therapy, we help unpack the ways ADHD shows up in your dynamic and work toward understanding and growth.

This might include:

  • Psychoeducation to understand how ADHD affects relationships and identify what resonates for you

  • Exploring how emotions are expressed and responded to between partners

  • Learning emotion regulation and communication skills

  • Addressing resentment and building tools for compassion, empathy, and accountability

  • Strengthening trust and emotional safety through strategies tailored to your needs

Our goal isn’t to “fix” the partner with ADHD, but to build mutual understanding and create systems that support both people in the relationship.
