About Me

Hi, my name is Amber! I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and I am excited to begin my journey in assisting individuals to overcome their experienced adversaries. I am passionate about having the opportunity to help people become aware of their strengths, self-worth, and goals.

Working from a collaborative, nonjudgmental, empathetic lens, where clients are encouraged to be the catalysts of their own realities, while intuitively walking alongside individuals as they work through the ailments they are experiencing. I emphasize approaching my clients from a place of not knowing, striving to understand their ideologies, beliefs, and values while honoring everyone’s ideals around health and healing.

My therapeutic perspective centres around Person-Centered ideologies, Solution Focused Theories, and Narrative approaches.

I firmly believe in the mind-body and spirit connection and look forward to learning and growing within the modalities mentioned above, along with striving to become competent in holistic approaches, such as mindfulness practices, Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and energy medicine.

About Me

I see therapy as a space where your voices, identities, personal experiences, and innate strengths are honoured and explored. I believe each client holds expertise in their lives which they bring to therapy, and it is my role to support you in harnessing that in a way that fits for your intentions and desires. Therefore, I approach therapy from a place of curiosity to work with individuals, intimate partners, and families from a relational and systemic perspective. This means I am always considering the ways the various contexts you have been situated in have shaped your experience. To do this, I uphold social justice and trauma-informed lens.

I aim to cultivate a space where you feel safe enough to share your story, engage in honest reflection, and journey on your preferred way of being. I believe clients have agency in the work they do in therapy. My role is to listen and ask reflexive questions that allow us to collaboratively identify what is getting in the way of your hopes and how you can respond to this in a way that feels right for you. My approach is grounded in the strong values I hold around intentionality and the therapeutic-relationship, and I strive to maintain open communication and build trust by showing up authentically.
