Acts of service involve gestures that make your partner feel loved and appreciated. These actions can be big or small but tailored to what your partner needs are. If your partner just had a long day at work, an act of service could be cooking them dinner or completing any household chores that they need to get done. Acts of service can also look like getting their favorite coffee or dessert on your way home, just because. These acts show that you are thinking of your partner, even when you are not physically together.

3. Receiving gifts

Gift giving involves making your partner feel seen and appreciated through visual or tangible items. These don’t have to be extravagant or expensive, but even something small to show your partner you are thinking about them. The meaning and sentiment behind these gifts are what shows your partner that you love and care for them.

  • Asking and listening intentionally about their day
  • Cooking a meal together
  • Going on a long walk
